The annual Western North Carolina Yarn Crawl will be held Tuesday, May 5 through Sunday, May 10 to celebrate 13 yarn craft shops across the region.
Yarn and fiber art enthusiasts are invited to print a bingo card off the Yarn Crawl website (wncyarncrawl.com) to see how participating shops have planned events for the week-long celebration and then get the materials for their knitting, crochet, and cross-stitching projects.
In Brevard, Sun Dragon Art and Fiber will be participating at its location at 181 Rosman Highway each day of the event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the following activities:
- Door prizes, at least 2 a day, with at least one grand prize drawing at the end of the week. Limit one entry per customer per day, no purchase necessary.
- Discounts throughout the crawl on purchases, on average 20%. Items excluded are already reduced merchandise, Ravelry patterns, and visiting artist shows/local artists’ merch.
- Local Indie Dyers Daydream Dyeworks, Fey and Fable Fibers, and Whirlygig Fibers will have yarn trunk shows during the crawl (exempt from discounts)
- Art of Skye pottery will have a new batch of locally-made mugs on sale, some with the Sun Dragon print on them, they are so beautiful and one of a kind!! (exempt from discounts)
- Minion discount packages: Restocked Surprise Me sale bin support boxes that are 50% off retail if you buy the bundle of yarn and re-vamped Minion Bags of Mystery with a limited number of bags that have 200 grams of yarn in them: same colorway or coordinating colors, full skeins, from the sale bins or sample yarn, up to 70% off retail price.
- A pin and sticker for the shop, shop-made totes for $10, and limited prints available for sale as well.
