Brevard Music Center will close its 2025–26 Parker Concert Hall Series on Thursday, May 21 with a performance by the Ulysses Quartet at 7:30 p.m.

Founded in 2015, the members of the Ulysses Quartet ensemble have performed on the world’s most prestigious stages and earned top honors in major international competitions. The international four-piece act is guided by the belief that music can inspire, enlighten, and bring people together because all four musicians are committed to performing both beloved masterworks and works by underrepresented composers as well as offering interactive programs to audiences of all ages.

“I have long admired the Ulysses Quartet and truly feel they are one of the most exciting young ensembles performing today,” said BMC Senior Director of Artistic Planning & Educational Programs Nicholas Tzavaras. “Their artistry, intelligence, and wonderfully cohesive ensemble playing reflect so much of what we value at Brevard, and I can’t imagine a better group to help bring our season to a close.”

Opening this final program of the Parker series is Mieczysław Weinberg’s introspective Capriccio in G minor, followed by Tina Davidson’s Just Before Light, before Dmitri Shostakovich’s sardonic String Quartet No. 7 concludes the first half of the concert.

The program then continues in the second half with Songs of Ulysses Heritage, an arrangement of traditional songs representing the ensemble member’s diverse backgrounds before Felix Mendelssohn’s romantic and vibrant String Quartet No. 4 brings the concert to a sparkling close.

Now in its fifth season, the Parker Concert Hall Series has become a cornerstone of cultural life in the region, offering performances by some of today’s most compelling artists year-round.

“The Parker Concert Hall Series brings extraordinary artists to Brevard all year long,” said President & CEO of Brevard Music Center Jason Posnock. “Each concert is curated to bring our community world-class performances that feel deeply personal in this remarkable space.”

Brevard Music Center hosts one of the nation’s premier summer music training programs and festivals each summer when it welcomes nearly 1,000 gifted students of all ages,to Brevard. Under Keith Lockhart’s artistic direction, BMC presents more than 100 public performances, including orchestra, opera, chamber music, jazz, bluegrass, and film scores with live orchestra before enthusiastic audiences.
