| Join the Cradle of Forestry on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 8 p.m. for a free evening celebrating the hidden world of moths! Attendees will observe a variety of fascinating moth species found in western North Carolina up close at two viewing stations with staff and volunteers present to help identify these fascinating flying insects. Learn about these lesser-recognized pollinators and their important role in our ecosystem in a relaxed, family-friendly event that offers a unique way to experience nature at night. Moth-themed props will be available for capturing images in the moth photo booth, and there will also be moth temporary tattoos and a moth antennae craft event before the viewing begins. |
Guests are invited to participate in moth crafts and the moth photo booth inside the Discovery Center. The program will begin at 9 p.m., and the night’s moth viewing prepared at two stations (the school house and the amphitheater) will conclude at 10 p.m. The Cradle of Forestry in America is located at 11250 Pisgah Highway in Pisgah Forest. Gates for the event open at 8 p.m. No preregistration is required for this event which is open to the public. *In case of rain, this event will be cancelled, and social media pages and www.gofindoutdoors.org site pages will be updated* |
