The NC Network for Fair, Safe and Secure Elections came to the Transylvania County Elections Center Sept. 16 as part of its series of town halls across the state. to provide information on the electoral process, build trust in our voting system, and strengthen civil discourse.
The 60-minute bipartisan town halls featured county election directors and board of election members from both sides of the political aisle. They addressed public concerns about electronic voting machines and AI, explained the secure process for collecting and counting votes, and laid out the checks and balances in our NC system that ensure the integrity of our elections.
The hour-long event moderated by Dr. Chris Cooper from Western North Carolina University included a dialogue with Transylvania County Elections Director Jeff Storey, Transylvania County Board of Elections Chair Jim Cruickshank, and Transylvania County Board of Elections Member and Secretary Judith West.
