Classes began for all nine public school students in Transylvania County Monday and district administration shared this information along with photos taken this morning at Brevard Elementary School.
“I always love the first day of school.
There’s just a different kind of energy in the buildings when the students come back, and you could definitely feel that today.
There was a lot of excitement, a few nervous faces, and plenty of smiles.
People sometimes think schools are pretty quiet during the summer, but there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes. Our teachers and staff have worked incredibly hard to get everything ready and make sure our students felt welcome from the moment they arrived.
I also want to thank our parents and families for trusting us with your children. We know how much that means, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.
I’m especially thankful for all of the people who made today go so smoothly—our teachers, principals, assistants, office staff, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, custodians, maintenance staff, and everyone else who had a hand in getting us ready for the first day.
It takes a whole lot of people to make a school day happen, and I’m grateful for every one of them.
It was just a really good day, and I’m excited to have our students back and see what this year brings.”
