For the first time since 2017, the Rosman FFA Chapter traveled to Indianapolis, Ind. for the 99th annual National FFA convention where three of the chapter’s officers joining more than 70,000 FFA members from across the United States.

The trio attended opening ceremonies and the first general session before touring agricultural industries and speaking with agricultural vendors and colleges about career and college paths in the industry.

“My favorite part of the trip was going to the horse races and the rodeo,” said Rosman High FFA Chapter Secretary Mason Houston in a news release from Transylvania County Schools. “I really enjoyed getting to meet everyone from other states and all across the country,” added Chapter President Rosa Cantrell.

“My favorite thing would be seeing how many people showed up and seeing so many blue jackets and people from all over the country,” said Chapter Reporter Piper Miller. “It was a great time overall!”

The officers enjoyed visiting new places, learning more about FFA and the agricultural industry, and seeing the full reach of the organization, according to RHS agriculture teacher and FFA advisor Shade Cooper.
