First Citizens Bank in Pisgah Forest invites the public to bring any paper documents they would like recycled to an upcoming shred day held at the bank branch located at 2260 Asheville Highway on Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“This event helps protect individuals and businesses from identity theft while providing a safe and environmentally friendly way to dispose of sensitive documents,” explained branch service manager Shara Stalcup of the free service the bank offers twice a year at the Pisgah Forest financial institution.
First Citizens is working with Shred-It to securely recycle any paper material provided until it becomes less than 5/8 of an inch thick and the collected fragments are baled to be sent to a trusted recycling partner for safe repurposing into new paper products.
Documents donated during the event hours should not be bound books or spiral notebooks and should be free of any staples or paperclips in advance of being brought to the First Citizens branch in Pisgah Forest to be shredded.
