To celebrate the culmination of the successful Patriot’s Pint community program, the Transylvania County NC 250th Committee and Brevard’s local brewing community invite the public to a special commemorative prize drawing on Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. at the Transylvania County Visitors Center.
“It’s in the spirit of a moment and in the spirit of the celebration that we give thanks to five local breweries and all who entered their businesses to be part of this promotion,” said TC 250 Committee Coordinator Bill Hunter. “They all embodied the spirit of liberty, collaboration and cooperation in our community.”
Honoring History and Local Craft
Throughout the Patriot’s Pint promotional program, participants visited local taprooms, sampled signature brews honoring North Carolina Revolutionary War patriots, and collected stamps on their Patriot’s Pint passport cards.
Saturday those stamped passport cards turned into grand-prize opportunities when event organizer Phill Davis, dressed as “Uncle Sam,” prompted local residents dressed in Revolutionary War costumes to pick completed Patriot’s Pint passports from the Transylvania County Chamber of Commerce chamber pot to receive gift bags donated by local breweries.
Brevard Brewing Company, Ecusta Brewery, Griffon & Sphynx Brewing, Noblebräu Brewhouse, and Oskar Blues Brewery participated in the promotion, which began July 4, and donated two gift bags filled with promotional materials from their corresponding brewery.
Participants who submitted thier stamped passport cards at the Visitors Center stein were eligible to win those prizes at Saturday’s drawing. Prize winners did not need to be present to win, though many were. Winners not present Saturday will be notified that their prizes are held at the Transylvania County Visitors Center for later pickup.

Davis said several breweries ran out of their Patriot’s Pint products during the promotion, but several had brewed additional kegs which were still tapped and some locations had the product available for those who wanted to consume it after the promotion ended.
“It turns out that a lot of the breweries found the program was very popular and ran out early in the promotion,” Davis explained after announcing several participants, including himself, had completed multiple Patriot’s Pint passports, “but if you go to them and ask, there is still some of this beer around town.”
