The non-profit legal aid organization Pisgah Legal Services will hold an open house for the new location of its Brevard branch, located at 130 Broad Street, on Wednesday, June 24 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Guests are invited to tour the new office and hear stories of people who relied on free legal assistance to overcome serious challenges.

“We’re very proud to have an office here in Brevard,” said PLS representative Daniel Carey at the June 8 Transylvania County Board of Commissioners meeting where he invited members of the public to attend the event. “We’re just around the corner. It’s just an informal drop by, but out staff will be there It’s free and open to the public. We’d just like to interact with folks, remind them who we are and what we do.”

Pisgah Legal employs staff attorneys and harnesses the power of approximately 250 volunteer lawyers who assist PLS clients. The organization provides a broad array of free, civil legal aid, anti-poverty advocacy and access to health care assistance in the 18-county western North Carolina region. It has been serving residents of Transylvania County since 1980 and in 2025 assisted more than 750 people in Transylvania county.
