Learn how to protect your investments on Wednesday, Sept. 16 during a special free seminar sponsored by Age-Friendly Brevard that begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Transylvania County Library’s Rogow Room.

Event speaker Erin Scheithe has been a financial educator for more than two decades and is currently an investor communication specialist with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Scheithe previously worked for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, AARP, and the American Bankers Association and will teach participants how to spot and avoid the “red flags” of investment fraud, as well as what can be done to protect private funds during and after a financial scam has occurred.

Age-Friendly Brevard was established in February 2024 to create safer and more walkable streets, more housing and transportation options, better access to key services, and provide more overall opportunities for all residents of Brevard irrespective of their birthdates.

No registration is required for this event, but more information can be found by visiting this site or emailing agefriendlybrevard@googlegroups.com.
