Tuesday afternoon members of the Brevard Housing Trust Fund Committee and city staff toured the construction site of the Fairview Meadows affordable housing complex off Asheville Highway.
Officials broke ground on the first phase of the project in August 2025. When completed, the complex will include one building with 42 rental units all dedicated to providing housing for families with incomes within 30%-70% of the area’s median income.

Later in the afternoon, the group also toured Habitat for Humanity’s cluster development in progress on Curlee Street.
“This is the tangible end result of all the text amendments we put before City Council,” Brevard Planning Director Paul Ray said as officials toured the construction sites. “Developers building structures that are not only within the building codes of the city’s ordinances but those being built within the architectural designs and with economic affordability in mind.”
