The French Broad River MPO is now accepting public comment on its draft assignment of local input points for division needs projects as part of NCDOT’s prioritization process.

Local Input Points allow the MPO to reflect regional and local priorities alongside NCDOT’s quantitative project scores. Local input points increase a project’s score and can improve its competitiveness for funding in the prioritization process. The division needs tier includes projects such as highway improvements on secondary routes, bicycle and pedestrian projects, transit capital projects, and projects carried down from higher funding tiers.

The draft point assignments are available below:

The MPO is accepting comments through Nov. 18. Comments may be emailed to MPO@landofsky.org, mailed to the French Broad River MPO, or provided at the MPO Board meeting on Nov. 19, when the Board is expected to make its final division needs point assignments.

To note: a draft assignment of zero points does not necessarily mean the MPO opposes a project; points and funding are limited in each round of prioritization.
