Brevard High School is launching a Hall of Fame to recognize the people who have shaped the school and its community across generations. A paper nomination ballot will be shared through local media outlets at the end of November, and community members will have one month to cast their votes for potential inductees.
The Hall of Fame is open to the full range of the Brevard High School community to honor athletes, alumni who have achieved exceptional career success, faculty members who have been instrumental in the education of so many students, and donors whose generosity has made possible things that would not otherwise have happened.
The effort grew out of conversations among Ricky Lambert, Seth Gerring, Carl Conley and Brevard High School Principal Jason Ormsby about preserving the school’s history. The group met in July and discussed ideas to move the project forward.
“If we don’t do something a lot of history will be forgotten,” School Board member Lambert said in a news release.
Once voting closes, the BHS Hall of Fame committee will meet in January. Members of the Brevard High School National Honor Society will help tabulate the votes and inductees for the inaugural class will be announced in late spring.
Inductees and their families will be celebrated during homecoming weekend, beginning with a recognition before the homecoming game in fall 2027. The first Hall of Fame Dinner will be held the following Saturday, where each honoree will be recognized.
