The Brevard College Percussion Ensemble will present its fall concert, “Old, New, Borrowed, Blue…and Red,” on Friday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Scott Concert Hall at the Paul Porter Center for Performing Arts. The performance is free and open to the public.
The program will feature percussion music spanning several centuries, from Baroque classics by Antonio Vivaldi to contemporary works by seven-time Grammy-nominated composer Andy Akiho. The performance will showcase a range of musical styles and arrangements accompanied by a dynamic lighting display.
The concert will also feature the full program of a shorter performance the ensemble will present earlier in the week for Transylvania County second-grade students. The annual children’s concert is sponsored by the Brevard Philharmonic Orchestra through its Music in the Schools program that provides local students with an opportunity to experience live music and explore the performing arts.
Community members are invited to experience the Brevard College Percussion Ensemble’s fall performance and enjoy an evening of music at the Paul Porter Center for Performing Arts.
