The city of Brevard and Transylvania County government are seeking qualified volunteer applicants for their municipal boards and councils.
Citizen engagement with local government is one of the best ways to make sure the decision-making that affects everyday services, local policies, and ongoing regional projects reflects the real needs and wants of our community.

Applicants interested in serving on the Brevard Planning Board, whihc prepares and manages comprehensive and coordinated plans for the physical development within the city and its extra-territorial jurisdiction such as the Land Use Plan, Unified Development Ordinance, Transportation Plan and floodplain, will be accepted until Aug. 14, 2026. Each appointment is for a three-year term beginning October 2026 and expiring in September 2029. All applicants must be residents of the City of Brevard.
