The TenTwentySix Youth Hub hosted its grand opening celebration Oct. 22 to launch a dedicated resource center designed specifically for teenagers in Transylvania County.

Located a five-minute walk from Rosman Middle and High schools at 1026 Pickens Highway, the Youth Hub provides adolescents ages 14–18 with positive adult mentorship, educational enrichment, free nutritious meals, and structured recreation during after-school hours.

The TenTwentySix Youth Hub initially opened its doors in May, but has built momentum this school year to serve hundreds of meals and offer structured mentorship during after-school hours Monday – Friday from 3 to 7 p.m.

“Since our initial launch in May, the response from local youth and community supporters has demonstrated just how essential this space is for Rosman,” said Peter Mumola of Brevard Rotary, in a news release. “With the active involvement of roughly 30 community volunteers, the Youth Hub gives teens a place to belong, access nutritious food, find academic guidance, and develop life skills in a safe, encouraging environment.”

Designed with teen preferences in mind, the facility features a blend of academic, creative, and athletic resources:

– Academic and chill spaces: A dedicated WiFi study room for homework and educational enrichment, quiet chill spaces, a TV room, and dedicated areas for art and chess.

– Teen-designed kitchen: A specialized kitchen space dedicated to meal preparation and providing free nutritious meals and snacks daily.

– Music and active recreation: Specialized music spaces, foosball tables, basketball facilities, raised gardens, and an outdoor soccer field.

President of the Brevard Rotary Michael Dexter-Smith helped bring the Youth Hub to life through his passion to create and develop this wonderful resource for Rosman’s youth.
