The Heart of Brevard downtown business district invited ghouls and goblins of all ages to attend the annual Halloweenfest Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from the look of things a good time was had by all involved.
Local merchants lined Main Street selling festive fall merchandise at Halloweenfest 2026.

The longest-running public fall tradition in downtown Brevard brought yet another full day of free, family-friendly fun to downtown Brevard with candy, costume contests, and scary /not scary sights to see.

Spooky guests and their furry friends were encouraged to sign up for the Costume Contest or the Pet Costume Contest to show off individual and group creativity while competing for prizes donated by area merchants. In the Pet Costume Contest, the Adams Family won for spookiest pet costume, Woof Bater Ginsburg won for most creative pet costume and the entry from “Kilwins After Dark” won for best group/theme pet costume entry.

Young children bounced their way through the day at the inflatable bounce houses in the Family Fun Fest to burn off the eerie energy created by consuming food from completely non-scary street vendors.

Creativity was the rule of the day during the popular costume parade downtown.

Count Dracula may not live in Transylvania County full-time, but we’re pretty sure he clears his schedule every year for Heart of Brevard’s Halloweenfest.
