Local diners and restaurants are coming together Thursday, Oct. 15 to support the Bread of Life nonprofit organization and its 30 years focused on eliminating hunger in Transylvania County for “Bread of Life Day,” an annual event where participating restaurants donate a portion of the cost of each meal ordered to the local community kitchen.
“For 30 years Bread of Life has seen firsthand how food can bring people together and strengthen a community,” explained Bread of Life Executive Director Paula Wesley. “This year we have 22 restaurants participating, which is an increase from the 14 we had in 2025. Next year, I know we will have even more because there were a few places that could not make their schedules work. When we gather together on ‘Bread of Life Day,’ we have an opportunity to support our local restaurants, care for our neighbors and give back to the people in this community.”
This year’s dining event features local eateries Quixote Fine Cuisine, The Bohemian, Cup & Saucer, Blue Ridge Bakery, Rocky’s Grill & Soda Shop, Pescado’s + Sunrise Café, Cardinal Drive-In, Smokey Sunrise, Territory Wine, Morning Social, Pisgah Social, Oskar Blues Brewery, Wine Down on Main, Fable, Smoke On BBQ, Pisgah Bakehouse, Tipsy Taco, Cedar Mountain Outpost, Mountain Bird Chicken, Grand Olde Station and Panthertown Café & Cedar Mountain Café.
