Information shared by Transylvania County Schools
Transylvania County Schools has been ranked as the top district in North Carolina in the Best Teachers category of the 2027 Niche Best Schools rankings based on analysis of key statistics and review from the U.S. Department of Education.
The nine schools in the local school district contributed to a number 1 out of 117 ranking public school districts across the state, an improvement from the previous year when Transylvania County Schools placed second in those rankings.
The district also earned strong marks in two other categories: fourth out of 118 North Carolina districts in Best Places to Teach and 16th out of 118 in Best Overall School Districts.
“The top ranking reflects the work of the educators who lead classrooms across the district’s nine schools every day,” said TCS spokesperson Erika Williams in a news release published Wednesday. “Teachers in Transylvania County build relationships with their students, know their families and hold high expectations for what every child can achieve. Caring and skilled educators shape a student’s confidence, curiosity, and success well beyond a single school year.”
