I'll put on my October reminder since I missed this. A couple of thoughts.
1. Speed through downtown is an issue. Speed Limits are only taken as recommendations. Doing anything that slows people down is a priority for me.
2. I don't want to see a bypass and don't want the downtown merchants to lose out on business. Especially after the city "beautification" plan was more hurtful than helpful. I fear the Council and Mayor don't understand that. The infrastructure (specifically sidewalks and streets) is unacceptable. Work on the issues for the people who live and work here.
I don't want to see us become an Asheville or Hendersonville. They do not reflect the culture or the dynamic here. And if we're looking at 2059 what is the population growth? Or will it even grow? What is the economic development forecast? More tourists? What are we pursuing to bring jobs to the area? How many more houses do we need and then build not considering the current neighborhoods?
Let's make our town a priority. Are you listening Council and Mayor?
