Classes at Brevard College started Wednesday, Aug. 19 with 790 full-time undergraduate students enrolled for the Fall 2026 semester giving this school year one of the largest enrollments in the local liberal arts school’s history.
Data supplied by the Brevard College Communications Department indicates the 2026-27 academic year will welcome more than 300 new students to the Brevard College community. That indicates the incoming class and total undergraduate enrollment each rank among the three largest in Brevard College’s 173-year history.
“The continued strong interest in Brevard College is reflected in this year’s enrollment, one of the largest in the College’s history,” said Brevard College President Dr. Bradley J Andrews in a news release. “We are excited about this incoming class and the many experiences, perspectives and talents they bring to our campus. We look forward to seeing the impact they will make at Brevard College and in our community.”
Representatives for the local liberal arts college continue to tout its national recognition for academic excellence, including a recent National Teacher of the Year award and high ranking among U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges.

“Fall admissions brought record application volume from 43 states and more than 63 countries,” said Vice President of Admissions and Financial Aid at Brevard College Dr. Chad Holt. “This year’s incoming class also features one of the strongest academic profiles we’ve seen, reflecting the continued interest in a Brevard College education.”
Brevard College is introducing new academic programs in artificial intelligence management and engineering science this semester along with new graduate programs and for an estimated 60 graduate students and the launch of an annual undergraduate research conference.
As construction continues on a new Student Center expected to be completed in spring 2027 and a major internet upgrade partnership with regional telecommunications provider Comporium is planned across campus, the 2026-27 academic year clearly could be a transformative time at Brevard College.
