Brevard Music Center has appointed Tim Dougherty as the organization’s new chief advancement officer.
Dougherty joined the Brevard Music Center in July following the retirement of former BMC Senior Director of Development Dave Perrett. As the leader of the music center’s newly created advancement department, Dougherty will be responsible for aligning development, marketing, and patron systems and is a key member of the music center’s senior leadership team.
“Tim brings an exceptional record of fundraising success, broad leadership experience, and a deep understanding of the nonprofit arts sector,” said BMC President and CEO Jason Posnock in a news release. “I’m excited to welcome Tim to the Brevard Music Center family and look forward to partnering with him to strengthen our mission and build on BMC’s remarkable legacy.”
Dougherty most recently served as the chief advancement officer for Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut. He was previously vice president for Advancement for the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan, where he designed and led a campaign that raised $135 million for new facilities, endowment, and financial aid.
Dougherty has more than 30 years of experience as an advancement officer. He has worked around the world serving Habitat for Humanity in Africa and the Middle East, United World College USA and Costa Rica, Cornell University, and the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver, but looks forward to bringing all those experiences to help chart the future of Brevard Music Center.
