The Transylvania County Library is excited to present its next Memory Café on the topic of “Backyard Birding” Monday, Aug. 31 at 10:30 a.m.
This free program is hosted in the library’s Rogow Family Community Room half-kitchen and will include a presentation by Carolina Nature Tours bird guide Kevin Burke followed by a short activity.
The Memory Café is a social gathering for those experiencing early-stage Alzheimer’s, dementia or mild memory loss that aims to create a gathering place for other community members who are managing a memory loss diagnosis to connect with any accompanying family, friends, or care partners in attendance.
The meeting will run for an hour. Therapy dogs from 5 Paws Therapy Group will greet attendees. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided in addition to take-home resources, including information from the Alzheimer’s Association and Transylvania County Department of Social Services.
Pre-registration for this event reserves two seats at the Memory Café and will be available until Monday, Aug. 31 at 10:30 a.m.
