The public is invited to the Cradle of Forestry for an outdoor summer concert of traditional music performed by the Pisgah Pickers, featuring current and former members of the Steep Canyon Rangers, on Thursday, Aug. 13 starting at 6 p.m.

All proceeds from this event will support the Cradle of Forestry’s mission of promoting, preserving, and enriching the birthplace of forest science in America by cultivating an appreciation of the vast and varied potential of our shared forest lands.

The Cradle of Forestry is located at 11250 Pisgah Highway in Pisgah Forest. Amphitheatre seating is available, but it is first-come, first-served, and guests are asked to bring lawn chairs or blankets for their personal convenience and comfort during the show.

Tickets, $25 for adults and $13 for youth ages 4-12, are available here.

Free parking is available on-site, but it is recommended guests arrive around 5 p.m. to allow time to park, enjoy the grounds, and find a seat in the amphitheater before the music begins.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase on-site. Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome, but any alcoholic beverages must be purchased at the Cradle of Forestry with each guest limited to buying no more than two alcoholic beverages total.

This concert is planned as a rain-or-shine event. In the event of severe weather, any schedule changes will be communicated by email and posted on FIND Outdoors’ website and social media channels.
